What is a slow oxide graphite electrode?

Slow Oxidative Graphite electrode is a graphite electrode coated with a protective layer of oxidation resistance (graphite electrode antioxidant).

UHP/HP/RP graphite electrodes can be filled with antioxidant materials in a fixed container, and the electrode is evacuated and pressurized, so that the antioxidant materials can penetrate the surface of the graphite electrode to reduce the degree of oxidation of the graphite electrode. When the electric arc furnace smelts and melts the raw materials, it effectively reduces the consumption of graphite electrodes and saves the cost of the steel plant.

A protective layer that can conduct electricity and resist high temperature oxidation can be formed to reduce electrode consumption (19%-50%) in the process of steel making and extension of polycarbon-graphite electrode.
